[ some time later in the evening after wynn's initial sending people out via word of mouth, a message will go out over drakenet.  wynn looks particularly grim still, the lines in his face betraying just how much fucking shit has gone wrong tonight. ]

My Knights.  Many of you have been made aware by now that the prisoner in our dungeons, the doppelganger called Kyp who impersonated two members of our Knighthood, infiltrated our sanctum, and helped aid our enemy in delivering those Knights to torture at the hands of Dimitris Sarandis, has escaped.  All evidence points to his being aided and abetted by one of our own.

Sir Elena Gilbert, who possesses similar abilities to his, was seen leaving with him not long ago.  She left behind a message apologizing for her part in this, but not denying it.  My own conversations with Sir Gilbert before her departure lead me to believe their intention is to travel to Andres Isle.  She seems to possess a great amount of sympathy for him, and feared that he would be executed before being granted a chance to redeem himself for what he had done to us.  

Whatever her intentions, this doppelganger has proven himself too dangerous to be allowed to walk free at this time.  We will make every effort to prevent them from traveling outside of England for now - but your standing orders to remain off from Andres soil have not changed. 

Following on the heels of this come further dark tidings.  Sir Luthir Reedhym, one of our eldest, most respected members of the Hide, has fallen in service to his family and Knighthood.  Those connected to the dark forces that led to his downfall will be brought to justice, you may be assured.  When this matter rests, we will host a fitting ceremony to celebrate the life and achievements of our dearly departed friend.

One final matter:  all of this is connected to another event that transpired this night.  A mass suicide of Shadowkind in New York City will certainly be global news tomorrow.  I would like to thank those Knights who stood steadfast even in their grief to do what must be done and save what lives they could.

These are perilous times, but we will face them together.  Stand strong with one another, and do not despair of heart should we fail to make progress tonight.  

We will win the war, whatever battles we may lose.

If you suspected they were heading to the Andres Isle, why not send out teams to intercept any possible mode of transport they could have taken instead of letting everyone go off on a wild goose chase?

The doppelganger Kyp was in the employ of a cult known to be working in some capacity with the drow god of Nightmares. That same god was responsible for Sir Reedhym's demise.

I sent Knights out specifically to stop them from traveling out of the airports, Sir Graham. [ wow he sounds less than patient with your attitude either ] Until this moment, I had not confirmed that Sir Gilbert had even left of her own accord.

We do. Do you have any way of hacking the security feeds?

And you believe it was his influence that drove those Shadowkind into the river? There were no male drow among the victims? [ she won't bother asking about the women; malaak'a loves him some male superiority. he would totally drown female drow. ]

[Rose... takes her sweet time absorbing this before she responds and it doesn't much matter what the time is in NY because somebody sure as hell hasn't been sleeping.]

Stiles and I should be able to once we find the security office. Do you know if they keep the security footage at Air Traffic Control? That's our first stop, to keep the planes out of the air.

[omg fine he'll calm his tits.] I was thinking that she could have acted out of sympathy, but everyone I talked to, any evidence I found didn't make that explicit. You don't think she could have been coerced in some way?

I've yet to receive word on the specifics of those involved, as it only happened within the last hour. They believe it to be the work of a tiefling named Keijen Blade, who works with the Nightmare Lord, although whether it was under his orders, the cult's, or Blade's own accord, we've yet to ascertain. The situation is ... complicated, certainly.

The doppelganger is capable of reading minds. Whatever small seed of sympathy Sir Gilbert felt for him might have been nurtured through their conversations. She seemed focused on her fears of being treated as an outsider. He may have... encouraged such thinking, left her feeling that she had no other options.

The message was left for Sir de Tanos. I wish I did not have to disclose any of it to the Knights at large, but it contained information I simply could not withhold, that may help us locate her.

If you wish to see the message, you may speak to Sir de Tanos. It will be delivered to her when she arrives.

It did speak well to... Sir Gilbert's intentions. But seems to indicate her complicity in his release.

That we've discovered so far. The message was left with Sir Timbers in the lobby when she... departed. He brought it to my attention.

Departed suggests she went on a holiday. She betrayed us. [Not even trying to hide how angry she is.] The sooner people stop making excuses for her good intentions the easier this will be.

Sir Gilbert is not our enemy, but such an attitude could quickly make her into one. I think we have more than our share of those to deal with at present, don't you?

Drow affairs usually are.

If the shoe fits. [Somebody please just, shut her up.] If you wanna make excuses for her fine, but nothing excuses what she's done. Nothing. She just sent one of our biggest threats back into the hands of those responsible for hundreds of Shadowkind deaths, including Luthir, without so much as a word to those who have been there for her so please, tell me, how the hell are we supposed to deal with our current enemies when we can't even trust our own?!
