[ 8( HE MUST BE HAPPY TO LEAVE SHE FUCKED UP OH GOD. ] I mean, I know I'm not exactly campaigning for Squire of the Year, but I thought we were doing okay. But, I could be better. More okay. I-I could try harder to get along with Sir Wellington.

You should look at it as having the opportunity to get to know them. They're of an age with you - you might even enjoy their company.

Well ... Well, isn't someone else available? Maybe, oh, I don't know. Someone that I know? A squireless someone that I know? Like, possibly ... what's Val'drin doing? [ A beat. She quickly adds and addendum to that. ] I mean, not necessarily him or anything, just. You know. Throwing ideas out there.

Val'drin? [He seems surprised by that. And apparently doesn't make any assumptions.] I think he might be a bit overwhelmed with missions of his own soon. You might find yourself in a similar circumstance.

... He goes on missions? [ this is genuine surprise. ]

Well, it's just, I -- You know. You never really see him around the castle. O-Or at least ... I don't. [ A beat. ] What kind of missions? [ Remember what I said about pre-Giles? Yeah. She's getting off task again. ]

Val'drin has a number of talents, but his specialty is in arcane artifacts: items imbued with some kind of magic. He's usually involved on missions that require someone with his expertise.

[slay]

[ He's good at things that aren't dancing???? And then Buffy checked out lots of books on arcane artifacts from the library. Sudden interest in Emily Dickinson, revisited. ]

Believe me, noticed the lots of talents. [ But. Right. The point being ... ] Do you guys get a lot of those? Uh, mystical artifact-y missions.

[chessing]
