VIDEO CALL ☏ TO EVERYONE
[ on september 18th, the following message is broadcast to all knights via the drakenet after the meeting is adjourned. there's no disguising the fire in their leader's eyes, the burning anger beneath his words, and more than anything, the determination underlying his message. ]
Many of you have been long familiar with the threat posed by the would be ruler of Andres Isle, Dimitris Sarandis. Nearly ten years ago, he conspired against the reigning family of the Isle, betrayed their trust and usurped the throne under the guise of his 'Parliament'. Since then, he has turned a country that once stood for peace and hope into a bed of fear, hatred, and despair. He has exploited the Shadowkind of the island to further his own dark experiments into enslaving those who he considers less than humans, conspired with the same cult responsible for the incident months past in New York, tortured two of our number, and since held Sir Bancroft prisoner.
Some of our Knights have returned from a diplomatic mission to Andres intended as a parley for Thomas' return. Dimitris has made his terms clear: in exchange for Sir Bancroft's life, he would have us abandon our attempts to set foot on the island and halt his machinations, under pain of death. As if this were not an impossible enough demand, he has compounded this insult by demanding my head.
Whatever chance he thought he once had of this offer being accepted ended when he decided to capture yet another of our Knights, Sir Samcelot, and subject her to an even more depraved brand of torment.
The situation on Andres has remained unresolved for far too long. We have never considered it our place to direct the current of any nation's governance, yet these are desperate times, which call for measures beyond the scope of our customary domain.
Tomorrow, we gather for a War Council. This is an open call to any and all available Knights, who are willing to stand against this great evil, and move upon Andres to unseat Sarandis once and for all. I will not disguise the danger inherent in this impending battle. Sarandis employs monstrous creatures of Shadow bent to his will, as well as controlling his human army. He's a deviously intelligent enemy infamous for his ruthlessness and prepared for an onslaught.
Yet, I have every faith in this Knighthood to overrun his forces, to free the people of Andres from tyranny, protect its citizens, and bring swift justice to those who have spat upon it.
Many of you remember our past Dragon's Claw, Sir Ellison, who vanished on Andres after Dimitris first took power. We fight for what was very likely done to him, for those of our number who Dimitris has personally tormented and exploited, and to reclaim our own who remain in his clutches.
We will not settle for defeat.
We will not cower before his threats.
Honor shall prevail.

[Yeah, that would be a confirmation on his end. Okay, so maybe that was a little overkill and technically the opposite of the way that Wynn had presented it, but the idea of going to war had that sort of effect on people. And this was Adam.]
Can private organizations even declare war?

Someone has to.

[Newsflash: There was shady-ass shit going down all over the globe.]

that hits where it hurts, where lydia had carried every single doubt. people like allison have it easier, from her perspective. their skills are quantifiable and produce visible, measurable results. they can fight. sydney, helen, rose. they can all get in the fray. adam can use his telepathy.
ever since stiles broke the news first, she's had this pressing feeling like ... like they're just kids. they don't belong here, shouldn't be fighting this. it's everything solace and hasmed had criticized about wynn's choice to send the andres team. she wouldn't even know where to start helping, where to start fighting a war.
so it plays on her already present insecurities, and when it's coming from jackson, from someone she loves, it's not as easy as just saying 'no, i'll figure something out' or 'we have to try.' ]
I don't know.

there isn't going to be an easy way to do this, but I figured a heads up was better than when I show up in a few hours.
[surprise??]

Um, what?

I'm heading there tonight. With Wynn calling for every hand available, I am offering my hand. I didn't want the first contact to be me showing up and just bumping into you.
no subject
Thanks for the heads up?
[Can she feel his bitchy sarcasm through the text tho. Because what the FUCK.]
