That's legit. [Faye hadn't thought of it that way, but she's got some respect for Rey for taking advantage of the circumstances.

She stays a step or two behind Rey, half expecting Hasmed or Solace to be right behind the door.]

[ The round table room is deserted, which only makes it more real, and therefore hushes Rey somewhat as she steps in, walking clear around it to the golden doors without hesitation. She puts a hand against one, studying it. ]

I can feel it. Just behind here.

[Faye opens the box Rey gave her and grips the wand tightly.]

Alright, just... stand back, I guess.

[Once Rey is clear of the door, she flicks the wand and lets her magic guide her (caster check 32).]

Open sesame, bitch.

[ no grey - the neighbourhood

the end of the wand lights up with a scintillating array of colors, which suddenly burst towards the doors, and there's a shower of magical sparks that seem to hit some resistance, sparking against whatever magic wards these doors, but with a flash of light, faye's magic clearly wins out, and sort of washes over the rest, until they both fade away, and the doors are left standing there, looking like normal over-sized gaudy doors that slowly push open to reveal ... a hallway bathed in a strange gold light... ]

[ At first, Rey looks too shocked to fully process it. Then, she repeats herself, delighted, reaching out to clap Faye on the shoulder as she says it. She hastens into the hallway then, impatient and following the Force signature of the holocron. ]

[Faye takes a moment to bask in her own success, but it doesn't last long since she needs to keep up with Rey. She follows after her, glancing over her shoulder, just in case anyone heard any of that.]

[ the signature leads her down to the end of the hall, and to the left where it branches: the source of the light and the overwhelming home of wynnefalshond, the silver dragon.

it feels as if the room opens into yet another world, a world composed entirely of gold, but that's merely because the overall effect is so dramatic. the ceiling rises just as high as the dragon statue does in the round table room, making it clear this room extends through both floors of the castle, and it is lit by the warm flickering light of numerous candelabras on tall stands. gathered in innumerable piles on the floor is a veritable sea of loose coins, dotted with golden artifacts, jewels, gems, shields, pieces of armor, weapons, staffs, tapestries, sculptures, scepters, pillars, tomes, and who knows what more. the coins seem structured in various mounds at first, that look deceptively like small hills or more morbidly, burial mounds, but it becomes clear upon looking a moment longer that it is because they are sloped around a large depression in the center, that has to be at least 120 feet in diameter.

somewhere, in all that, rey feels the call of the holocron ]

[ rey jumps square down into the mounds of treasure and goes hunting with a 25 spot check to pair alongside her extrasensory focus; the force is with her. ]

[ she sounds — delighted? relieved? this isn't for nothing. but she looks kind of like a crazy person trying to sift through all of it, probably. there's no apparent end to wynn's hoard. ]

[Faye turns in a slow circle as she follows Rey, taking in the full experience of Wynn's secret stash.]

That Scrooge McDuck motherfucker... [She mutters under her breath.]

Unless Wynn swiped your family jewels, I'm not really sure what we're looking for here.

[ there's a lot to go through and as she starts to climb over piles, she would notice that there are some objects sit on top of short pillars here and there, close to the walls. it is on top of one of those that the holocron sits, surrounded by a dull blue glow ]

[ She points, and immediately makes her way over to reach for the holocron. ]

We found it in the Philippines.

Great. Grab it and let's get the hell out of here.

[ as her hands touch the edges of the blue glowing light, sparks abruptly launch out from it towards her chest, a draining energy that seems to suck her vitality away (fort save dc 23 ... or -5 levels). ]

[ Rey grunts with the force of it and seems winded, but recovers (fort save 17 action pointed to exactly 23!), closing her hands around the box. ]

I think it's spelled.

[ Protected, certainly. She looks back at Faye, though, and keeps her hold on the holocron, carrying it back to Faye. ]

Do you think that was Wynn or the person who made it?

[ She reaches for another piece of random treasure as she walks back to Faye, trying to test if it has the same spell on it. ]

Seems weird to cast a spell on it when it was locked up in here anyway. But I can try to dispel it if you want? [That offer was probably more useful about ten seconds ago but eh.]

[ it depends on what she goes for really - most of the gold laying around seems like it isn't bespelled in any way, but the items sitting on pedestals are all surrounded by the same blue glow, noticeable with a DC 10 spot check. if she doesn't make the check and reaches for one anyway, the same thing happens (an attack of 21, ranged touch, minus 5 levels if you don't make a fort dc 23 ]

and i think that's too funny to action point. so she's keeping it. she grabs another one of the blue-glowing objects and gets zapped again. but with her 26 fort save, she still weathers the spell. she looks over at faye, ]

Apparently Wynn was weird, then. Because it's on everything. He must have been paranoid.

Sounds like we should get the fuck out before our luck runs out. [Annd she's gonna turn and do just that.]

[ To the door! Rey is right there with her. ]

[Once in the round table room, Faye heads for the exit, but only opens it a crack so she can take a quick look to make sure the coast is clear. Staying here is asking to get caught, but rushing and being seen leaving the room doesn't sound great either. But she's...not exactly the best at being cautious. She's not terrible but she's definitely not the best. (spot 14)]

[ Rey pops up comically to peer over her head through that gap in the door with a spot 19. ]

[ the coast appears to be entirely clear... ]

[Faye gestures for Rey to follow her out. She straightens and opens the door just enough to slip out. She moves quietly, but most importantly casually.

She'll wait until they get a safe distance from the round table room before saying anything. But presuming they don't get busted...]

That was...enlightening. Got everything you wanted?

I hope so.

[ She looks down at the holocron in her hands. ]

It's the only hope I have.

[ jaina doesn't remember enough, and darth vane is too biased of a source. ]

I couldn't let them leave it behind. I ... [ she stops at the end of the hallway, pocketing the holocron in her belt pouch, then looks up at faye very seriously. ] Thank you. I'll repay you. If you ever need something ...

Yeah, sure. I'll let you know if I'm in a bind. But while we're at it, do you mind if I keep the wand? [Is it even useful anymore? Who knows! But it's a cool souvenir if nothing else.]

[ Rey grins. ]

All yours. It's only fair. [ She shrugs one shoulder. ] It's not like I can do anything with it.
