When he opens the package he finds a copious display of a variety of cookies and a note reading:] I had an over-abundance of sweets and knew just who to share them with. Hope these find your well and successful on your first mission. Keep in touch. ~ Francesca

I can understand your reluctance to trust any system of command. Is this how you know Katniss and Haymitch? Do you know them from... before?

Yes, essentially. We all won different years.

It's strange that you hold so many memories, and Katniss holds none.

It would be better to forget. ... But it's still lonely, holding the weight of it all.

I can only imagine, Finnick. [She knits her brow in concern.]

Have you told them? About what you remember?

I've tried. They don't really like hearing anything about it. [seeing how Haymitch TRIED TO SHANK HIM WITH A BROKEN WINE GLASS and Katniss ... well she only shoved him against the wall but she probably wanted to do more. ]

It's probably partly because it's so... different than what everyone else comes to this world remembering. It's only very recently that we've encountered travelers from other planes, besides the Shadow World.

I can imagine it's a little harder to adjust when there's only three of you from that entire world. Well, three of you around here at least.

I'm trying. [that's all he's got. he doesn't know if he's doing all that well -- he sure doesn't feel like it, but at least he's trying.]

You have to give yourself time. You haven't even been here very long. It'll come, because it has to. You've already said you're a survivor. You'll adapt.

If you weren't the type of person who strives to be better, you wouldn't have accepted Wynn's offer. And you must believe you have something to offer the cause.
