[  you might have guessed this was coming, failboaters.  in the wake of the concert tragedy, wynn contacts each of you individually, and asks you to conduct a private video conference with him as a debrief of the events that transpired.   and also to check in on everyone, because that was... traumatic.  

everyone must reply to this post as a new thread for their private convo.  if you don't have time / want to handwave, we can discuss what gets said oocly, just let me know ]

[She sighs heavily, not because she doesn't want to talk about it -- talking to Luthir had broken that barrier -- but because saying she "claimed" to have them makes her feel like he doesn't think she is. Which is a little upsetting.]

What about them? Some creepy dark elf is trying to lure me to the back of his sketchy van with promises of power and lollipops. He is kind of a jerk.

You and I both know you aren't speaking of just any drow.

Yeah. But it doesn't matter right now, because we have more impor-- other stuff to do like make sure Rafael doesn't go to jail for murder. He's a creepy ass evil god, which means pretty much immortal, fifty years could go by before he remembers he wants to screw with my life.

I'd say attention from a deity is always a matter one should consider a priority, particularly when that deity desires something from you.

I'm most curious to know what drew his attention in the first place.

I don't know -- kids of gods are supposed to be really rare, right? Put two of us in a room and someone is bound to notice. Maybe he couldn't get Jade because she had no memories or he didn't want her because she was part Drow so he picked me instead, I don't know.

Dark elves as a rule despise all races outside of their own. It's remarkably unusual for him to turn to even a human aasimar. Which makes his motives only more suspect.

I'll look into the matter. [ a beat ] Although I have a suspicion as to who it may be.

Would you mind sharing this suspicion?

[wynn]

As I'm sure you're aware, speaking the true names of the gods draws their eye upon us... but titles remain a safe means of discussing them. His most popular moniker, appropriately, is the Lord of Nightmares.

That was anticlimactic. [She huffs out a frustrated breath.] Thank you, sir.

I trust you're capable of doing the minimal research necessary to uncover the name connected with the title, if you're not familiar with it. Sir Gar can assist you in learning more.

Yeah, I've got it. Hey, boss, can I -- have you ever met one of these guys?

[wynn]

By which I take you mean a god?

[graveflowers]

Yeah. Specifically one of the unfriendly ones.

[wynn]

The gods can't manifest in this world. Not physically... not without considerable risk to themselves.

[graveflowers]

I know, that isn't what I asked. [A breath and...] Look, I know it might be a personal question and totally out of line, but I'm trying not to be constantly thinking and freaking out about it, which the former is pretty easy because I am pretty sure Myri is the only one who would bring it up because she worries, adorably, but the latter I am kind of having some issues with. And, and. I want to know that it's okay to be terrified so I can stop trying not to be and move on.

In the face of the gods, it would be foolish not to feel fear. You said that wasn't what you were asking. What did you wish to know?

[It is a strange reassurance, having permission to be afraid.]

It's not important. I just have a lot, too much, on my mind. I don't even know. [She shrugs, apologetically.]

[wynn]

Very well. If you change your mind, I expect I'll know.

[graveflowers]

Yeah, probably. [She smiles a little wryly before bringing her hand up to cover a huge yawn.] Excuse me. Um, anything else you want to know? Anything you want me to do?

[wynn]

That should suit for now. But I'd like you to keep your team appraised of any further developments in these dreams of yours.

[graveflowers]

[That is one of the last things she wants to do and she opens her mouth as if to protest but doesn't, snapping her mouth shut again.]
