This afternoon, Sir Jeanne Gar was abducted from downtown London, and despite our best efforts to halt the attempt, was taken to an undisclosed location by a woman called the Mind Master.  This same woman worked with Dimitris Sarandis and his fellow cultists, and participated in the attack on our castle this winter.  

This woman is extremely dangerous, and I advise anyone who thinks they have a means to locate Sir Gar to work directly with myself and Sir Hasmed to do so.  I will not risk losing more Knights to these fanatics.

We will find her.  For now, remain vigilant, and I would advise you all to be cautious when venturing outside of the castle.

[He nods a bit as he changes his pants - STAR Labs got him over being body shy a long time ago - before he shrugs.]

He didn't seem that pissed off, but I did hit him pretty hard. I apologized but he was pretty blase about it.

[ she doesn't look away, but she doesn't stare either. ]

He's like that about everything. [ he's either a dick, a flirt, or just doesn't give a single fuck, interspersed with small moments when he's just nice. thea likes the chill moments. ] And he can take a hit, don't worry.

[ he and thea have beat the shit out of each other in the training room before, she knows this is true. ] Just trust me on this one, okay?

[He nods a bit as he sits back down on the edge of her bed again, before shaking his head.]

I don't know, it's just doesn't really say great things about your capacity as a knight when the head of the knighthood has to knock you out to keep you from doing more damage.

...wait, Wynn knocked you out. [ omg thea you're not helping! ]

[He nods a bit as he reaches to rub where he was elbowed in the head.]

Yeah, he elbowed me in the head. Though I'm sure if he didn't, Alex probably would have. I was in pretty bad shape at that point.

[ she'd heard it the first time, but didn't really believe it? listen? it wasn't important at the time and she'd probably just transferred alex to wynn's position. alex knocking him out would be less unbelievable. ]

Oh, wow. [ she reaches over to take his chin, turn his face toward her, eyes keen as she brushes her other hand against his temple. when her eyes flicker to his there's understanding in them. ] You'll have a monster bruise to go with your undeserved guilt, don't worry.

[He laughs for a moment, before nodding as he flops back against the bed again.]

Yeah. Thanks.

Thought that might help. [ she ducks her head with a smile, slipping off the bed to scoop up his bloody clothes and fling them into the corner before she settles back next to him, kneeling on the comforter. ] Aside from the guilt and the bullet holes in your back -- don't think I didn't notice them, what.. happened?

[He pauses, before shifting for a moment so that he's propped up on one elbow next to her.]

So, I was in the kitchen in the London office, looking for the sushi, and Sir Brink comes in saying that Wynn needs whatever knight's available for this last minute mission. I said I was in, and when we all meet up we find out someone's taken Sir Gar, and we were going to try and get her back. Wynn asked me to run ahead and meet up with Sir Hasmed and assess the situation before they got there so that we knew what we were getting into.

Okay, I'm following so far. [ and she can easily follow why barry would just drop everything (sushi) to do so. he's like harry potter, he has that saving people thing. ]

[supertardiness]

Alright, so I get to this warehouse down by the docks and the first thing I see when I get there is this giant mass of tentacles coming from nowhere. It has this dark-haired woman - which, I understand, is what Sir Gar looks like, so I tried to see if I could free her, somehow, but the tentacles got me too.

Sir Hasmed was there, and he managed to make the tentacles disappear but it wasn't long after that that the Mind Master got in my head. I tried to attack Hasmed but he had some kind of magical shield on him. I couldn't touch him.

[ she makes a face at the tentacles. she's not here for this anime bullshit. ] He's head of the Dragon's Fire for a reason, I guess. Similar to why she's called the freakin' Mind Master, probably.

[ this is why the bad guys shouldn't name themselves. ]

Who was shooting at you? [ because right now she's imagining it might have been alex in order to stop barry and that's a little distressing. ]

[supertardiness]

Probably the guys who grabbed Sir Gar. Or whoever Alex was shooting at - they looked like Sir Gar, so I was trying to protect them.

[He shrugs.]

Anyway, Alex, Wynn and the rest get there, and Alex starts shooting at what I think is Gar, and so I go after him instead. I punch him in the face, Wynn cold cocks me, and that's the last thing I remember until they woke me up in the car.

Jeez. [ she squeezes his knee, assuming it's relatively uninjured. ] At least as far as missions go, you can only go up from being decked by the boss.

[supertardiness]

That is very true. And you know, it's not like I'm not used to failing the first time. I'd just kind of was hoping I wasn't setting a precedent.

[withasouvenir]

I hate to sound like a Hallmark commercial, but in this case I think trying your best really is the most important thing. [ leaning down, she kisses his cheek, resting her forehead against his for a moment as she adds, ] I'm glad you weren't murdered by tentacles. I'd have no idea how to cover that in your eulogy.

[supertardiness]

[He smirks a bit at that, before nodding his agreement. He appreciates the closeness, more than anything else.]

Yeah, I'm not sure how that would have gone down either. Here lies Barry Allen, eaten by Cthuhlu.

I'd put something nice on it at least. Here lies Barold, suck it Usain Bolt.

[supertardiness]

[he laughs.]

I would beast Usain Bolt. Though, it would be kinda unfair because he doesn't have super powers.

He doesn't have to know that. Haven't you seen the Incredibles?

So you're saying I should play it half-speed?

And then give it a sprint at the very end like a second wind. [ she's very satisfied with this idea. ]

[He nods.]

Sounds like a solid plan that does not completely embarrass my opponent. I like it.

I'm considerate. Now -- [ she pushes his hair back from his forehead, fingers gentle against where his bruise will be. it serves no real purpose, she just wanted to touch him, make sure he's still whole. after all she's lost, she takes near losses maybe a little too hard. ] -- lay down properly. We can watch a movie and I'll get you some food.

[He nods as he pushes up into a sitting position, rubbing at his face.]

Yeah, that sounds really good actually. I'm starving.
