[ meanwhile, back at the ranch...
the keijen blade concert was televised, for anyone curious to watch, although many of the failboaters had cautioned (including a sign taped to the TV by kat) to keep it on mute, lest they get brainwashed by blade's voice.
the cameras did not last through the entire thing, but what they did see was... disturbing. at one point, in the giant concert hall, a large glass pane lifted between blade and the audience, as he sang a taunting number, at the end of which, the ceiling split open pouring boiling hot lava onto the hundreds of concert attendees, who were boiled alive. Some might know that they had friends away on that mission, friends who had said they were going to be in the crowd as back-up. The last images broadcast before cuts to a live newcast trying to make sense of what was happening as the cameras melted seemed to confirm the deaths of anyone inside.
The panicked reporters spoke of unusual sightings in the area, a horribly darkening sky above the concert hall. Monsters appearing out of nowhere. Chaos.
Los Angeles is burning.

...I sure hope that means something to one of you.
[ Meanwhile he's going to take a 31 in computer use and try to pull up CCTV footage near the stadium, trying to get a view of what's under that miasma. Traffic cams, ATMs, whatever he can hack into. ]

Myri Odair and Spike, Rose Hathaway, Elena Gilbert. As for who else- maybe Dumage? She ran with that lot, didn't she? Mark, too but would Wynn have pulled him for this?
/busts in like the kool-aid man
Rose is in that mess?
[She tries to keep the panic out of her eyes and fails.]

Looks like she might be, yeah. [He reaches for her hand and gives it a squeeze.] We're trying to find out if they all made it out of there. You want to text her? You know her better than most of us, I think.

[While Cisco deals with the satellite surveillance, Topher goes back to the twitter feeds and liveblogs from people who are there. (Computer Use 40)]
I'm tying to get, like, a whole tasting menu of what's going down out there. Thank God we live in a day and age where everyone would liveblog the apocalypse.
[a beat, as he looks over at the HEAVILY PREGNANT WOMAN who already looks pressed] ...Not that that's what this is. I just mean in general. It's Millennial Sociology.

As she reaches into her pocket to get her phone, however, she visibly winces, her expression obviously pained, as she rocks sideways on her feet briefly with a heavy breath. After that short and somewhat unnaturally long pause, she starts texting.]
She better freaking answer me.

[ Skye points to her screen. ]
I've got some shots from in the crowd. Right before the ... [ how do you even describe what happened ] Lava. If I'm seeing this right, some of our knights were in the middle of the crowd when it happened. [ she doesn't want to be the one to say 'there's no way they got out.' but ... ]

Followed by pain.
She'd had twinges most of the day, but it wasn't the first time that'd happened, so she hadn't thought too much of it. But if the expression on her face is anything to go by, this isn't a twinge.
Her hand moves to her stomach, fingers pressing into the large swell there, and she grits her teeth.]
Not the best time, kiddo...

Okay, um, like I know you don't really have control over your whole [ he gestures vaguely ], but-- is this the best place for you right now?

What are you on about? [Turning to Bo, realization washes over him. He spins in his chair to face her and stands up, panicking] Wait... Is it-? Now? Is it now? Should we--? What do we do?

[ times like this are when skye is reminded that she's surrounded by dudes in tech. ]
Don't any of you know someone in the Light? Have you ever been outside this lab? Call somebody!
[ she walks over to bo and puts a hand on her shoulder. ]
I, uh, think this is usually the part where you breathe.

She breathes out on the girl's command, getting her shit together before she says:]
Call Ana, Andrew. Tell her I've been dealing with contractions all day but they've decided to take it up a notch and see what she says for me, alright?

ana answers andrew's call and promises to get there as soon as possible, asking if they're able to transport her to the light wing. ]

Maybe you should take a seat. [ here is a nice rolly chair. ]

[Directed at Zero. Don't piss off the lady in labor okay, bad move.
She manages a smile for Skye, though, having a seat.]
Thanks, babe.

She's coming. She asked if we can get to the Light wing. Do you want to walk? Or should we borrow the chair for a bit?

[Her words are punctuated with measured breaths.]

Keep digging. If there's an emergency and you need me, let me know, but... Actually unless this place is coming down, I don't need to know.
[Okay he's going to rush them out of there now byyyyye]

...Now that THAT'S taken care of... ]
Um, Skye, was it? Can you shoot me over that facial recognition algorithm to see if I can pull any matches from this footage I've got?

[ something about the bo and andrew thing is sticking with her. they have priorities, man. this, being in here, doesn't touch the human element of it. she gets to her feet. ]
You know, on second thought, just plug it in. You can take over my workstation. Process is automated, it should — [ she's hobbling over the instructions at this point, unplugging herself. ] I have to go be somewhere.
[ not a birth, maybe. not anything so warm and fuzzy. but someone has to be the pallbearer for all the corpses they're digging up. ]
