[ she leans closer to look at the picture before sitting on the desk, lulu curling up in no fluffy ball on the floor. ] That's a strange thing to bring back. What mission team was it?

Andres aka Torture Town, USA or... island off the coast of France. I think. Pretty sure they went in looking for a guy of ours who was stuck there and came back with a consolation prize?

Sir Bancroft. The whole big doppelgänger thing happened right after I got here. Not the escape, but when they realized what happened. Sir Chessing brought back Myri and... some guy, but Sir Bancroft had to stay behind on the island. [ just clearing that up for him. ] So they didn't bring back Sir Bancroft?

I don't think so. I mean I don't know everyone here yet, so maybe? But they weren't exactly doing cartwheels on their way in.

I know. I think I made the girl who came back from it cry. [ she tugs down her scarf so stiles can see her scar. FIRST TIME SHE'S SHOWED IT TO HIM. ] I guess she's sort of like Will, so my life after her time there was probably too much to handle at once.

[And then Vi's texts come in about Kat and Stiles just... slumps back in his seat. He can't word. He can barely breathe.]

Stiles...? What's wrong? [ her expression falls with concern as she fixes her scarf back into place. ]

[He blinks at the sound of her voice, thumbs moving quickly to fire off a response back to Vi's initial dropped bomb.]

One of the knights that went with them. She didn't come back. She was- [He swallows and tries again.] She was showing me some stuff. Magic.

[ see abigail's dubious empathy at work. she leans forward to put her hand on his shoulder, squeezing gently. ] I'm sorry.

[He lets out a shaky breath and reaches up to put his hand on hers, squeezing gently.]

...everything? [ he only mentioned kat, but he was texting for a while, there were paragraphs of text, she saw it. she'd like a little elaboration.

This must have been the last straw, I guess. [He just turns his phone over so Abigail can read for herself.. He can't even begin to try to properly explain.]

[ she reads quickly, face impassive, handing it back to stiles when she's finished. ] I'm sorry. [ because it was more obvious from the text that kat was... is important to stiles. and she has an inkling what vi wouldn't say, but abigail is female. she's female who's spent the better part of the last six months of her life being educated in serial killers. her mind immediately jumps to the worst. especially if kat is the last straw.

she needs to tell will. but... she doesn't want to leave stiles. ] Are you okay?

Yeah, I'm- [Well that's a big load of crap.] Not really, but I'm... [He lets out a long breath.] I don't know. I need to get out of here. I told Lydia I would fill her in once I knew more.

[He finally looks at her and even with the scarf now righted, it registers to him what he saw just as he received this terrible news. It doesn't seem right to try to bring that back up now, though. But it's definitely something he wants to talk about later.]
