[ ok this actually seems ... weirdly dire and terse. so she rallies to be supportive friend, not sarcastic friend, by the time she gets to the garage with her jacket pulled up around her face, furry hood outlining her button features in hilarious contrast. ]

[familybusiness]

[By then, Sam's already grabbed keys to one of the cars and is waiting for her. He gestures with his head for her to follow them, and he's silent as they make their way to the car.

He opens her door for her, by the way, before he makes his way around and gets in the driver's side, shoving the key into the ignition.

It's probably pretty clear that he's...not super excited about this conversation.]

[ at least he's not so unexcited that he forgot manners. skye climbs in and shuts her door herself, compulsively hitting the unlock button on her door in a show of how unused to fancy new cars she still is. ]

[He sort of bobs his head for a second, as if he already gets that, not putting the car in reverse just yet. Instead, he lets out a heavy breath before he looks over at her, his expression intent.]

Anything I say in this car, you can't repeat. If at any point you get...too freaked out, you need to let me know, and we'll come back. [He waits a second for that to sink in before he asks:] Can you do those two things for me?
