[ the end of the first episode of season 10 is on so he gets to watch christopher win and beatrice go home while lila makes him a screwdriver and refills her own glass. she's a pro, however, yay alcoholism, so she's pretty fast and flops down next to him on the couch, passing him his drink. ]

[ she stretches forward to flip the box open in answer: there is his pepperoni and mushroom. ]

You're a peach. [he reaches over to take a slice.] And you said there was cake, too?

Yeah, it's in the fridge. That I don't know what you like so I just got what I wanted. [ in case he didn't want to come over and she had to eat her feelings. ]

What is it? [he's too lazy to get up and that's dessert anyway lmao.]

White cake with raspberry filling and vanilla frosting.

I prefer cheesecake -- omigosh that dress is horrifying -- but I'm really picky about cheesecake, too.

[ she sets her drink down to retrieve a slice of her own veggie and anchovy laden pizza. she gets her pizza from a fancy hipster place. it has truffle slices. once she has her own pizza, she slides back on to the couch, pulling her legs up next to her. ]

[he snorts at the ugly dress in question.] Yeah, cheesecake's hard to get right.

Two Little Red Hens is the best. [ she sighs fondly, plucking an anchovy free and popping it in her mouth. ]

Do you want a truffle slice?

Uh, yeah, sure.

[bittersweeter]

[ she scoops one up and holds the sliver on the tip of her index finger, extending it to alex. ]

I'm a sucker for truffles. With anything. I put truffle oil in my ketchup for french fries.

[he just takes it, puts it on his pizza slice, and eat it lmao.] You're fuckin' ridiculous.

I know. We all have flaws.

[ she chews thoughtfully for a little bit, making faces at the tv before she speaks again. ]

I promise I'll drop it, but I just wanted to say I'm sorry to your face. You don't have to forgive me and I don't need you to say anything because I don't want it to be about making me feel better, I just want you to know. I am sorry for thinking more about myself than you.

[ gonna take a looooooong drink now. i love you, vodka. so good. ]

Okay. [he isn't sure what else to say when he'd rather just ... not dwell on it and move on with life now that the issue has been addressed.] Thanks.

Okay. [ and since she promised, she does indeed drop it. ] Anyway, September 18th, either this year or next year, I haven't decided.
